As much as eveyone loves a day sometime they are not that much of a blessing. After working more then 10 days staight a day sounds great, but isn’t. Instead of being able to relax I now how to catch up on any household chores. Do laundry, clean the kitchen, tudy, vaccuum and just do anything that has been neglected. I end up doing more work at home then I would have if I had been abel to go to work, at least I would’ve gotten paid had I gone in.

At least my boyfriend and my roommate will get to appreciate my cleaning efforts seeing as I’m back to work for another week straight.

Twitter, is literally becoming bigger everyday and it can be a confusing and strange experience when you first sign up. Twitter is basically like bloggin, except in under 140 charatcters. If you know what facebook is, it’s like facebook, but only with staus updates. There is a twitter code to. Things that you can put in your tweets to related the to other people or  tweets. The pund (#) sign is a hash tag, and will relate whatever word follows the hash to to other tweets with the same tag. The @ symbol, is in refernce to another twitter user. The letters RT, mean re-tweet, posting somone else’s tweet again.

Just a few things you should know about twitter to get any new users started. And speaking of twitter, don’t forget to follow me at life_balance.

One of the more hilarious things that I do is a very irregular part-time job. I work on a per word basis writing short blurbs, descriptions and review for… adult websites. These might seem absolutly ridiculous, and sometimes I think it is too but it can definitly pass the time that I usually might spend just watching TV. Weird jobs like that just go to show the interesting type positions you can find on websites like Kijiji or Craigslist.

As a student, I can’t say no to a job that is simple, straightforward and can be done in pyjamas while eating a bowl of ice cream. Any oppurtunity is a great oppurtunity.

Being a date to a wedding can either be a really great experience, or a really horrible one. This past weekend, my roommate went to her new boyfriends’ cousin’s wedding. She was roped into helping decorate, making flower arrangements, and helping out with the wedding way more then she had been expecting. Not only that the new boyfriend’s mother seems to have a bit of a hate on their relationship which makes it all the more awkward. Just to much everything over the edge, this wedding was in a small town, on a farm, where the main attraction of the wedding was the bride and groom driving off on a four-wheeler.

Is getting a wedding date to help decorate the for the wedding really appropriate wedding date etiquette.

Friday has come and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve worked everyday this week, and I will be working straight through the weekend. At least today is payday though. I’ve been waiting two weeks for this day and it sucks even because I took so much time off last week.

This past week I worked at multiple locations at the park which made the week go by much faster, I wasn’t bored quite as often as I had been in the past on long weeks. I’d be even happier if i had this weekend off to see my boyfriend. But I will be stuck working with thousands of other people.

My newest favorite part of working is getting henna designs. I’ve gotten four in the last week, and presonally, I think I’m getting rather good. A little temporary body art is a great way to explore new and interesting tattoos.

As I’m sure many of you know last week was not good for Hollywood. Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson and Billy Mays (of the oxiclean advertisements) all passed away. This caused a lot of talk, some deaths more expected then others.

Michael Jackson fans will be permanently heart broken as the King of Pop passed at age 50, just weeks before a slew of 50 London shows were scheduled to start.

Farrah Fawcett, died at age 62, after years of struggle with colon cancer, and for her at least she could pass peacefully to end long years of pain.

Ed McMahon, for those of you that don’t know him, was the long time sidekick on the Johnny Carson show, died at age 86.

And to end of the week, Billy Mays, died at age 50.

It’s sad to see popular start pass on but it is nice to know that they are all at peace. It’s also pretty great to have such awesome gossip. All last week there was new news to talk about, every person encountered over the past few days has had something to say on the topic, which is fine by me, it makes life just that little bit more interesting.

Today is the lovely day that celebrates our country (or at least any Canadians that are reading this). Sadly, I will of course be working for my third Canada in a row. Because it is a holiday, Wonderland will be extra busy making my life even much more of a little hell. Even though most people leaved before park close, on Canada Day, there are fireworks, which means everyone sticks around.

Since moving to Toronto, Canada isn’t as quite as exciting as it used to be. I can’t go to Parliament hill and enjoy thousands of people, free concerts, and fireworks, on Parliament hill in our nations capital. If I were to party in Toronto, I wouldn’t even know where to go. The Hill (as it’s known to Ottawanians) is the place to be, from early afternoon until the post fireworks rush to the free public buses.

Another Canada Day at work, at home, maybe I’ll have a celebratory beer.

One big change in any ones life is when a friend gets a new beau. My roommate has recently started officially dating a guy and the dynamic in the apartment definitely has changed. The happiness I see in my roommate is great but the constant beeping of her phone as she receive 100’s of text messages a day isn’t quite as appreciated.

Her boyfriend lives in a small town about an hour and a half from our apartment so on any given weekend my roommate may not be around and the apartment is down to two inhabitants. Or the boyfriend has come to visit and our cozy two bedroom becomes even cozier with our of us.

The new boyfriend is good and bad, but the worst part is getting to know him and accepting him. I won’t lie, he is a prett awkward person, more techy then I am, so often I don’t know what he is talking about. Accepting is all in the warming process and he definitely has a lot of warming to do.

This weekend was amazing, nice and long, and a little bit of everything. Kingston was great as to expected. A lot of food and a lot of booze definitely created a great night. I mat some friends, had some laughs and just enjoyed myself worry free.

On to the campground, a different scene but great none the less. I camped a lot as a child, we would spend weeks over the summer camping out, moving around, buying a lot of ice for coolers. But now that I have to work over the summer, I don’t really get that chance any more. Spending the rest of the weekend with my mum and godparents made it perfect. There was some rain but all in all some really great periods of sun with nothing to do but relax. I read a good portion of my book, went for a little canoe ride and saw some interesting wildlife.

And today, it’s back to life. Back to work, to roommates and boyfriends. To screaming guests at the park, and paying for my own food. But such is the cycle of things, so let mine start all over again.
